Hana Kawai #14

Hana Kawai first played ultimate at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle. She then swapped coasts for college where she played at Brown University in Rhode Island and Boston Brute Squad in 2009. She's since returned to Seattle and has been playing with Seattle Riot since 2010. She represented the US in 2006 on the Junior Girls National Team and also attended WUCCs with Riot in 2014.

She's most proud of her six years coaching at Franklin High School in Seattle, as well as the work she's done organizing with All Girl Everything Ultimate Program, which connects young folks—particularly young girls of color—to social justice work through the sport and community of ultimate.

If you get the chance, ask Hana about her favorite anti-racist feminist post-apocalypse novels, or her chickens.
