Sarah Griffith #6

Surge is a hearty Midwesterner who grew up playing the football, hockey, and the trombone - not Ultimate. She picked up the sport of Ultimate at the University of Michigan, where she captained for two years and was an all-region player. After graduation, she made her way to Seattle to see what was up with these "mountains" that she'd heard so much about. She's been playing for Seattle Riot since 2008 and captained for two seasons in 2010 & 2011. She has played and coached abroad in Colombia, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Ireland. She was a member of the World Games team that won gold in Colombia in 2013.

In her spare time, Surge wrangles children as a 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher and coaches high school girls in the Seven Hills Ultimate Club.
